Generative AI in Diamond Open Access Publishing (EIFL)

This short report, released in late 2025 by EIFL, outlines some of the emerging opportunities and issues arising from the growth of generative AI around editorial workflows, metadata, authorship, research integrity, copyright and others. It provides very brief and clear summaries of these issues, along with links to external resources such as guides and courses for those seeking further clarification and guidance. While this resource is focussed on journals, we felt it was important to include because, as has happened with other guidelines in the past (e.g. research ethics) it seems like to us that guidance and policy innovated for journals will be adopted and adapted for books.
